The Minolta Weathermatic Dual 35, nicknamed “the Yellow Submarine”, is an all-terrain 35mm film camera introduced in 1987. Built to be rugged and waterproof, this compact camera is ideal for adventurers and outdoor photography enthusiasts, whether underwater or on land. With its unique features and distinctive design, it became an icon among all-terrain cameras of the 1980s.
- Lens : Dual focal length 35mm f/3.5 and 50mm f/5.6, with motorized switching between the two focal lengths.
- Film format : 35mm, standard for high quality images.
- Focus : Active infrared autofocus, with an underwater auto-fix-focus function. Minimum focus is 0.75 m in air, with a macro option to go down to 0.52 m with the 35 mm.
- Built-in flash : Automatic activation in low light, ideal for underwater or macro photos.
- Waterproof : Designed for use up to 5 meters underwater, resistant to splashes and wet environments.
- Power supply : Operates with one 6-volt BR-P2 lithium battery (for approximately 40 films) or with 4 AAA alkaline batteries (for approximately 20 films).
- Film advancement and rewinding : Automatic, simplifying use.
- Design : Bright yellow body, recognizable and durable, with a viewfinder that adjusts its magnification according to the selected focal length.
- Weight and dimensions : Compact and robust, ideal for outdoor activities.
